Our client has recently constructed an orangery to the rear of the property and wanted to enhance their garden so as to fully appreciate their new view.
After an initial meeting, we agreed an outline sketch plan and construction budget. Masterplan was finalized along with detailed specifications and a timetable of works.
The design included the revision of the existing terrace, a new lower sitting area with a pergola over, raised growing area supported with new bespoke potting shed, new lawns, screen planting using deciduous and evergreen “pleached†trees, yew hedging with mixed evergreen shrub/ perennial planting.Â
During construction, we all agreed to replace the proposed water feature with the mature olive tree. All trees were both uplighted and irrigated with leaky pipes.
Although not on the design, we also totally rebuilt the front garden, replacing damaged brick walls with reclaimed sleepers, new steps, edging and drought-tolerant nursery stock planted through landscape fabric and gravel and with the relocation of three favoured trees from the rear garden.
The garden sits opposite The Duke William in the idyllic village of Ickham and has already drawn many favourable comments, so why not check out both yourself!
