It may be August, but the best of British summertime is still to come. Just think, the months of August and September are only around the corner, and notoriously, this is when the warm weather usually kicks in.
Let’s be honest though – It has been pretty good so far. In fact, we can go as far as to say we’ve all been spoilt over the course of May and June. And hopefully that means you’ve been able to get outside and into the garden – making the most of the light evenings and warm weather.
If not, don’t worry. There’s still plenty of time and loads to look forward to. However, what’s important is having a garden you can truly enjoy. Not everyone finds gardening as much fun as us – and you don’t have to slog away for hours each day to get the perfect retreat. Simply spice up the outside area with some new features, and you’re ready for the months ahead.
Let’s take a look at some of the great things you can do to your garden:
Decking: Let’s start with this great idea. If you don’t have decking, it’s time to start thinking about it. Why wouldn’t you? It looks stunning, offers the perfect excuse to get outside, and can be used for all sorts of activities. Plus, no garden is too big or small to benefit. No matter the size, we can tailor a package that’ll take your breath away and provide a superb finish you’ll be proud of. Entertain guests, eat your dinner outside, or simply relax in the evening with a glass of wine – the decking will soon become a favourite.
Patio: Next up is another option along similar lines, but with a different level of appeal that offers plenty of versatility. There are a plethora of designs and styles to choose from and every patio area is different. If you want to escape the confines of your home and enjoy the wondrous outside area, patio could well be for you. It lasts years, looks great, and is really easy to maintain.
Pergolas:
How can you maximise the appeal of your next outside living area? With a pergola, of course. These look absolutely fabulous and are an entertainer’s dream. They can support any features you wish, such as outside lighting, ceiling fans and even chandeliers. It’s all down to your personal tastes and preferences. Plus, pergolas can be designed to fit your garden, with an appeal for any homeowner – tailored to your budget – so don’t worry about breaking the bank! Pergolas are the ultimate enhancement for an outside living space, so why not enquire today?
BBQ area: We Brits do love a barbeque don’t we. And why not – the sausages sizzling away in the warm heat of a Sunday summer afternoon is a pastime enjoyed by many. So, do you have a dedicated BBQ area to really impress your guests? Whether it’s just a built-in BBQ that acts as a central point of the garden, or comes inclusive with a whole seating area, Millhouse can help you create the space you’ve always wanted. Start flipping those burgers with your very own BBQ area, and have a garden with even more character.
Outside lights: One to think about all-year-round, but especially important in the summer to help you enjoy those lovely long evenings even more. Don’t worry about the night setting in – simply switch on your garden lights and let the fun continue. With a whole range of styles and designs to suit any garden and budget, there’s never been a better time to invest in some sophisticated and elegant lighting displays. Plus, in the winter you’ll have the lighting in place for when the darkness rolls around early – whether you’re tending to the plants or simply want to spend a little time in the cool air.
Outdoor heaters: We all have that friend or family member who gets a little chilly before everyone else – either reaching for the jumpers or forcing everyone to retreat indoors. But with an outside heater you won’t have to worry about that again. Simply light up and away you go – keeping everyone nice and toasty for many more hours of hosting. Those great evenings don’t have to come to an impromptu end anymore.
Water features: We’ve spoken about a number of ways to enjoy the garden more, but what about from an aesthetic perspective? How can you really add shine to your garden? With water. Water features dazzle and amaze, with countless to choose from and of any shape and size. You’ll attract nature, and can gaze from your new decking area in the morning with a cup of tea in hand – as birds bathe and play in the early sun. The soothing sounds of water will also add an extra dynamic to your now delightful space, and you’ll have a feature to enjoy all year round.
And there you have it – some really great ways to make the most from your garden and set it apart from the neighbour’s. Want to find out more? Then get in touch with Millhouse today and find out how we can help to transform your outside space.
